Jones Lang LaSalle Strengthens Southeast Retail Platform with Strategic Gulf Coast Hires

Firm adds retail experts Josh Burmeister and Buff Teague to its growing retail brokerage practice


MOBILE, Ala., Feb. 11, 2014 — Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) today announced the firm has hired Josh Burmeister as Executive Vice President and Gulf Coast Retail Brokerage Lead, and Ms. Buff Teague as Vice President to expand its retail expertise in the region. The duo will cover Alabama, Mississippi, the Florida Panhandle and Louisiana. Together, they will partner with John Bemis, Southeast Retail Market Lead and John Lambert, Florida Retail Market Lead to provide strategic and value-add services to retail owners, investors and tenants.

Burmeister and Teague join JLL from SRS Real Estate Partners.

During his career, Burmeister has completed more than $900 million in retail transactions. While in his role at SRS Real Estate Partners, he served as the Market Leader for their operations in Mobile, Alabama and Co-Market Leader for Birmingham, Alabama operations, overseeing nearly eight million square feet of project leasing assignments including ground-up developments to existing regional power centers on behalf of institutional and local landlords.  Burmeister earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Auburn University and is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers.

While at SRS Real Estate Partners, Buff Teague served as a First Vice President and primarily focused on tenant representation for local, regional and national retailers as well as landlord representation for project leasing. Her landlord leasing assignments totaled more than 2.4 million square feet of retail space. Teague is an active member with Leadership Mobile, Mobile United, The Providence Foundation Advisory Group and St Paul’s Alumni Fundraising Committee. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Vanderbilt University and is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers.

During the last two years, Jones Lang LaSalle Retail has added more than 50 retail brokerage experts in major markets including Atlanta, Austin, Boston, Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas, Florida, Hawaii, New York, Phoenix, San Antonio, Seattle and Southern California.
