JLL Continues Workplace Strategy Team Expansion

Kim Vanderland appointed to advise corporate real estate teams on workplace strategies to improve productivity, engagement and diversity

CHICAGO, Feb. 27, 2014 — As companies look to their real estate to enhance workforce productivity, Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) continues to expand its workplace strategy team to meet this growing demand. Most recently, the firm added workplace strategy and change m​anagement expert Kim Vanderland to its Workplace Strategy team as Senior Vice President. She is based in Washington, D.C.

With more than 14 years of experience in leading national workplace strategy initiatives, Vanderland has built a reputation for offering creative, yet analytical, approaches to helping companies optimize their corporate real estate portfolios, reduce costs and improve workforce satisfaction. She excels in leading large workplace change programs, building teams and stakeholder engagement across all levels of an organization.

rior to joining JLL, Vanderland served as Director of Workplace Innovation for Capital One. In this role, she delivered highly-innovative workspace solutions to create a "future-of-work" flexible workplace environment for 60,000 associates in 14 million square feet of office space across multiple business units. She developed next-generation workplace standards to reconfigure workspaces 70 percent more quickly than with previous methods and to improve space efficiency by 25 percent.

Through her consulting firm, Space Matters Consulting, Vanderland provided strategic services to help companies transform their real estate into an effective business differentiator. Working with clients nationwide, Vanderland's firm provided workplace strategy, design and furniture planning, change management and related services. She also helped companies adopt universal design concepts to promote inclusion and diversity while enhancing workforce effectiveness and satisfaction.

Vanderland has a B.A. with an emphasis on business sustainability from Mary Baldwin College and has attended executive leadership training at Darden School of Business at University of Virginia. She holds certificates from two leading change management institutions, the Prosci Institute and LaMarsh Global Managed Change. Vanderland is a member of the U.S. Business Leadership Network, Corporate Advisory Board, Acoustical Society of America, CoreNet Global, International Facility Management Association, and Workplace Revolutionaries, and is a gubernatorial appointee to the Virginia State Board for People with Disabilities.
