Portland Law Firm Bodyfelt Mount to Move to Historic Spalding Building

Historic Premier Skyscraper, Building Offers Efficient, Collaborative Space in Excellent Location

PORTLAND, February 10, 2014  — Local law firm Bodyfelt Mount LLP, has signed a new lease for 7,663 square feet on the top floor at The Spalding Building, a historic, 12-story building at 319 SW Washington Street.  The lease commences this summer when the law firm will relocate from its current space just a few blocks away.

Andrew Rosengarten and Buzz Ellis of Jones Lang LaSalle represented Bodyfelt Mount.  The landlord, Manchester Capital and Urban Renaissance Group, was represented by Greg Gonzalez and Joe Beehler of Colliers.

Bodyfelt Mount was looking for greater efficiency in its use of real estate while enhancing its use of collaborative space.  “We’re seeing heightened interest among law firms and other professional tenants in creative floor plans that emphasize the ability for all levels of staff to collaborate.  The Spalding is a truly unique historic building, with modern amenities that our client valued,” said Andrew Rosengarten, Jones Lang LaSalle.

Deanna Wray, Managing Partner of Bodyfelt Mount, expressed their enthusiasm, “We are excited about moving the firm back to a historic building, but with a modern design that reflects the changing law firm work culture and technological advances.”

The Spalding Building was completed in 1910 and counted several banks among its early tenants.  The building underwent a major renovation in 2010 that revived much of its historic character.

Among the amenities added at that time was a bike storage and fitness facility located in the vault of a former bank.
