JLL Further Strengthens Tenant Rep Capabilities in San Francisco With Addition of Julia Wilhelm

In rising market, top real estate talent seeks professional growth opportunities

SAN FRANCISCO, January 21, 2014 – Jones Lang LaSalle announced that Julia Wilhelm, a broker with over ten years of experience in tenant representation in the Bay Area, has joined the firm’s San Francisco office as an Executive Vice President.  She joins a top tenant rep team at JLL, which represented major tenants in many of the largest transactions in the Bay Area in 2013.

Wilhelm joins from Studley, where she was a managing director and represented large law firms, growing tech companies and renowned non-profits in office transactions. She was the first broker in San Francisco to receive LEED accreditation from the US Green Building Council (USGBC), chaired Studley’s Sustainable Real Estate Practice Group, and regularly speaks on the topic of green leasing.

“Julia is a talented and highly creative professional who is well regarded throughout the Bay Area real estate community and who brings strong analytical and negotiation skills and an exemplary reputation among corporate tenants.  She is another great example of the type of star talent this firm is positioned to attract, even in a rising market, because of our global platform,” said Christopher T. Roeder, Managing Director, Jones Lang LaSalle.

Prior to moving to Studley in 2007, she was one of the founding brokers in Cornish & Carey’s San Francisco office and, in 2005, was named that firm’s ‘Rookie of the Year’ as the highest producing young broker.  In her career to date she has advised and represented tenants in over 2 million square feet of transactions.

She has been recognized as a ‘Rising Star’ in the real estate sector by the San Francisco Business Times and received the California Real Estate Journal’s ‘Green Leader’ Award.  In addition to her membership of USGBC, she has served on the board of directors of the Financial Women of San Francisco and is a member of the Urban Land Institute’s Young Leaders Group.

Wilhelm holds a B.A. in Economics from Duke University.  While an undergraduate at Duke she also studied at the London School of Economics (LSE) and the Sorbonne, in Paris, France.

JLL’s Northwest region employs 1,200 full time employees and operates major corporate offices Northern California, Oregon and Washington. The San Francisco office has been named one of the ‘Best Places to Work in the Bay Area’ by the San Francisco Business Times.  JLL brokers were involved in negotiating 12 of the 25 largest lease transactions to record in San Francisco in 2013.
