Tech firm moving headquarters from Wauwatosa to Waukesha

MILWAUKEE, Nov. 11, 2013 — Telkonet, Inc. — whose business divisions include EcoSmart™, an intelligent energy management system, and EthoStream®, one of the largest high-speed Internet access providers in the world — is moving its corporate headquarters from Wauwatosa to Waukesha.

The company has signed a new lease for 6,362 square feet of space at Crossroads Corporate Center II, 20800 Swenson Drive, just south of Interstate-94 at Barker Road.

Telkonet was represented in the transaction by David Pudlosky, Vice President in the Milwaukee office of the commercial real estate services firm Jones Lang LaSalle.  Jones Lang LaSalle Vice President Michael Streit represented the building’s landlord, a private Chicago-based investment group.

The new lease was necessitated by Telkonet rapid growth. Since relocating the company from Maryland to Wisconsin in 2001, the company has grown to more than 100 employees. The company will be relocating its sales, marketing, administrative and executive staff to the new Waukesha headquarters office while all other divisions will remain at the Wauwatosa office.

The new office will also include a technology demonstration center that will showcase the company’s EthoStream and EcoSmart products in real-world applications.

“I’m fortunate to lead a growing company with bright prospects for growth in all our business segments, said Telkonet CEO Jason Tienor. “We are capitalizing on positive market influences, such as our EthoStream business benefiting from the growing hospitality business and the ever-increasing demand for reliable wireless connectivity.”

Telkonet plans to take occupancy of the new space in Q1 2014.
