Jones Lang LaSalle Expands Retail Leasing Capabilities in the Midwest

Chicago leasing expert, Peter Caruso, joins the firm as the Midwest Retail Agency Leasing Lead


CHICAGO, Dec. 2, 2013 — As the retail sector continues to improve throughout the Midwest, Jones Lang LaSalle Retail today announced the addition of Peter Caruso to its retail brokerage team. Caruso will serve as the Retail Agency Leasing Lead for the Midwest Market, based out of the firm’s Chicago headquarters. He will partner with Larry Kilduff, the Midwest Retail Market Lead to service retail owners by providing them a full spectrum of lease and sublease services.

Caruso has more than six years of diverse real estate knowledge in property leasing, acquisition, due diligence, valuation, lease restructuring and tenant representation. His wide range of experience as a real estate advisor to retailers, attorneys, lenders and restructuring professionals, and throughout his career, he has represented national retailers in rollouts throughout the Chicago MSA as well as lease-related services with local developers and institutional buyers.

Prior to joining Jones Lang LaSalle, Caruso worked for Mid-America Real Estate Corp. where he focused primarily on landlord representation and product leasing. Caruso helped build the product leasing portfolio to nearly 60 projects consisting of nearly 5 million square feet in less than two years. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from DePaul University and participates in continued education through the Chicago School of Real Estate and is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers. His community service work includes raising funds for underprivileged children with a focus on the annual Silent Auction for UNICIF’s Primary fundraiser, “Designs of Hope.”

During the last two years, Jones Lang LaSalle Retail has added more than 50 retail brokerage experts in major markets including Atlanta, Boston, Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas, Florida, Hawaii, New York, Seattle and Southern California. During the first half 2013, the group added more than 60 new assignments and more than 30 retail clients to its network across the United States.
