Jones Lang LaSalle Selected by Kushner to Lease 5 Thornton Road in Oakland, NJ

Firm serves as leasing agent for Kushner Cos. at 151,825-SF warehouse, light manufacturing facility located within Oakland-McBride Industrial Park

PARSIPPANY, NJ, November 21, 2013 — Jones Lang LaSalle was selected by Kushner Cos. as exclusive leasing agent at 5 Thornton Road in Oakland, N.J. The firm will provide a full range of marketing and transaction services at the 151,825-square foot warehouse and light manufacturing facility.

The JLL agency team will be led by Howard Weinberg, executive vice president, and includes Michael Palmeri, associate. The team will work closely with Ira Bloom, director of commercial real estate, with Kushner Cos.

“The prime location of 5 Thornton Road is ideal for tenants looking for a corporate park setting surrounded by a highly educated workforce,” said Weinberg. “Garden State Lumber recently signed a five-year deal for more than 60,000 square feet, or more than 40 percent of the building. The remaining 88,943 square feet can be leased in its entirety or divided into approximately 45,000-square-foot units, which are perfectly suited for tenants that require warehouse/distribution, assembly and light manufacturing capabilities, and administrative space.”

Kushner recently renovated the building, which is located on eight acres within Oakland-McBride Industrial Park at the intersection of Thornton Road and Van Vooren Drive. The one-story 5 Thornton Road currently has 88,943 square feet of space available, comprising 75,593 square feet of warehouse and light manufacturing space and 13,350 square feet of office space.

A 31,650-square-foot portion of the available space at the building is fully air conditioned and offers explosion-proof storage areas. The area was designed by previous tenant Estée Lauder Inc. as a production facility to fill and package fragrance bottles for its Aramis division. The skincare, makeup and fragrance company recently vacated 5 Thornton Road after occupying the facility for more than 35 years.

The property offers 22-foot ceiling heights, six loading docks and 174 parking spaces, existing compressed air lines and a fully gated, state-of-the-art security system. It also offers an on-site back-up generator with a 1,000 gallon underground diesel storage tank.
