GSA Signs 61,902 SF Succeeding 10-Year Lease in Washington Region

WASHINGTON, Sept. 18, 2013 – Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) announced today that it represented the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) in the award of a 61,902-square-foot succeeding lease for the Department of Health and Human Services, Food and Drug Administration. The 10-year lease is for office space at 11919 Rockville Pike in Rockville, MD.

GSA’s acquisition team was led by Jim Phelan and Rich Miller.  Jones Lang LaSalle professionals representing the government included Whitney Aaronson, Rob Carey and Joe Judge.  David Alperstein of FD Stonewater represented the building ownership.

11919 Rockville Pike is part of Montrose Metro I & II, an 182,503-square-foot Class A office complex.  Located directly on Rockville Pike, Montgomery County' s major north/south commercial and retail corridor, the property is within walking distance of the White Flint Metrorail station, with Red Line service to suburban Maryland and downtown Washington, DC. In addition, its proximity to the newly constructed Montrose Parkway provides express access to I-270.

According to its website, GSA’s leased portfolio contains more than 8,100 separate properties – totalling approximately 192 million rentable square feet–dispersed across the United States.  Since 2005, Jones Lang LaSalle has assisted the GSA in more than 1,278 leases.  Nationwide, the firm is currently assisting on more than 267 lease procurements for Federal civilian departments and agencies across the executive, legislative and judicial branches.
