Construction Project Manager Elise McCoy Joins Jones Lang LaSalle in Cleveland

Construction, design and retail brand roll-out professional brings New York retail and office sector experience to the Great Lakes team

CLEVELAND, Ohio, Nov. 12, 2012 Jones Lang LaSalle announces the hiring of Project Manager Elise McCoy, expanding the firm’s Project and Development Services (PDS) construction and development management capabilities in its Cleveland office. In this role, McCoy will provide a full range of construction and development management services, including office and retail capital projects program management, design and construction management, development management, and oversight of interior design, retail planning and store design.

“Building owners and investors in the Cleveland area are undertaking a growing volume of capital projects,” said JC Pelusi, Jones Lang LaSalle Managing Director and Great Lakes Market Director. “Elise brings both the construction experience and design acumen to ensure renovations and new construction projects are executed in support of owner ROI objectives.”

With more than 10 years in design and construction, McCoy has overseen a broad range of design and construction projects. Prior to joining Jones Lang LaSalle, McCoy was based in New York City, where she was Design and Construction Project Manager at an integrated real estate services provider in the firm’s corporate interiors construction practice. Earlier in her career, Elise worked for retail fashion brand Tommy Hilfiger, reporting to the director of store design and construction, where she assisted in the planning and design of the brand’s retail shops and specialty stores. She also previously owned a business designing high-end residential projects in New York.

“Today, our project management professionals bring a range of skills and experience beyond construction—architecture, finance, green design, resource management—and that diversity of skill sets enables us to attract more experienced, client-focused professionals from all demographics,” emphasized Todd Burns, President, Jones Lang LaSalle Project and Development Services. “Achieving greater diversity is largely a matter of removing the blinders, and focusing on hiring beyond the traditional construction demographic of white men for white collar jobs. The result is a better organization with a stronger appeal to our clients.”

McCoy earned her A.A.S. degree in Interior Design from Parsons School of Design and a B.S. from The Ohio State University. She also earned a Certificate in Lighting Design from Altos de Chavon in the Dominican Republic.
Jones Lang LaSalle’s Project and Development Services (PDS) group employs more than 1,000 project management professionals across the country with expertise in occupancy planning, relocation and build-out, multisite program management, ground-up construction and complex redevelopments.

PDS professionals advise on project initiation, planning, design, construction and closeout for single assignments or multiple projects across a portfolio, functioning as a manager or at-risk developer, overseeing some or all phases of the development process. One of the world’s leading project management organizations serving commercial buildings, PDS has strong experience in office, hotel, retail, industrial and distribution centers, hospitals, universities, sports facilities, data centers and call centers.
