Firm participates in premier national benchmarking survey to strengthen LGBT workplace inclusion
CHICAGO, Nov. 14, 2012 — Jones Lang LaSalle, the global financial and professional services firm specializing in real estate, is pleased to announce that it participated in and returned solid results on The Human Rights Campaign (HRC) 2013 Corporate Equality Index (CEI), a national survey that analyzes and rates the largest United States employers’ policies and practices pertinent to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) employees.
Jones Lang LaSalle is one of the few commercial real estate firms represented on the survey which, since its inception in 2002, has become the gold standard for corporate policies and practices related to LGBT employees and their families.

Building Pride, Jones Lang LaSalle’s LGBT Employee Resource Group launched earlier in 2012, worked with resources within the firm to aggregate the national data for the submission. Along with the launch of Building Pride, Jones Lang LaSalle is demonstrating its ongoing commitment to supporting its LGBT workforce though best-in-class employee resources, such as domestic partner health insurance coverage inclusive of same-sex spouses, non-discrimination and equal employment opportunity policy inclusive of sexual orientation and gender identity, and sponsoring Reaching Out MBA and participating in Out & Equal Conferences. Jones Lang LaSalle’s support for Building Pride, as well as employee resources, contributed to the firm’s Index score of 80 out of 100, a very strong first-time ranking.

A total of 889 businesses, including the entire list of FORTUNE 500 companies, participated in the 2013 CEI. Index participants respond to a lengthy survey and ranked on over 40 policies and practices, ranging from insurance and benefits to mentoring and recruitment.
