Industry leaders Clay Smith and Mark Newman each bring 30+ years to the firm’s growing team
DALLAS, February 15, 2013 — As part of its ongoing efforts to enhance the retail services it offers in select local markets across the country, Jones Lang LaSalle today announced that seasoned tenant representation specialists Clay Smith and Mark Newman have joined the firm’s rapidly growing Retail Tenant Brokerage Services team in Dallas. Smith and Newman will serve as Executive Vice President and Senior Vice President, respectively, partnering with Retail Market Lead Geno Coradini to provide strategic and value-add services throughout the Dallas/Southwest Region.

Smith became President of Staubach Retail and he and Newman handled many national retail accounts including Wachovia’s retail branch expansion in Texas, as well as completing more than 120 leases throughout the U.S. and Canada on behalf of Computer City.

Throughout his 32-year career, Smith built a solid reputation for fairness and integrity, consistently ranking among the top producers in the industry. He has held leadership positions in The Staubach Company and SRS Partners in addition to owning his own firm. Smith earned his degree in Business and Journalism from Southern Methodist University. He has served on the board of North Texas Commercial Association of Realtors, is a member of International Council of Shopping Centers and is a featured speaker on several real estate panels. Personally, he has served on several community and church boards.
Most recently, Newman was Executive Vice President of SRS Real Estate Partners, where he assisted In-N-Out Hamburgers in opening its first 19 restaurants in Dallas/Ft. Worth. Throughout his 30-year career, Newman has been recognized for his experience and integrity. In addition to consistently earning Top Producer awards, in 2012, he was named “Heavy Hitter” by the Dallas Business Journal and Power Broker by D CEO Magazine. Newman earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Texas Tech University. He currently serves on the board of Search Ministries, is active in his community and is an Elder in his church.
