Jones Lang LaSalle Expands into Milwaukee/Southeast Wisconsin

BROOKFIELD, Wis., Oct. 11, 2012 — The global commercial real estate services firm Jones Lang LaSalle (NYSE: JLL) is expanding into the Greater Milwaukee Area with the opening of a new corporate office in suburban Brookfield, the firm’s leadership announced today.

Long-time Milwaukee-area commercial real estate executive Dan Jessup has been tapped to lead the new office and will be joined by fellow broker Michael Streit. Jessup and Streit are joining the firm from APEX Commercial Realty and will specialize in representing office and industrial real estate tenants and owners, as well as local corporations.

Among the team’s first assignments is overseeing leasing and property management efforts for four office buildings totalling 350,000 square feet in Waukesha and Brookfield owned by a private Midwest-based real estate investment company.

Chicago-based Jones Lang LaSalle — which has corporate offices in 48 U.S. cities and 70 countries around the globe — has long had a presence in the Milwaukee area, serving as the property manager and leasing agent for The Shops of Grand Avenue and providing facilities management services to several corporations with large presences in Wisconsin. Jones Lang LaSalle’s Hotels Group, based in Chicago, is currently marketing the former Staybridge Suites development site on North Water Street.

Additionally, Jones Lang LaSalle continues to represent the prominent law firms Foley & Lardner, LLP, and Michael Best & Friedrich, LLP, in their strategic real estate planning and lease negotiations in the Milwaukee area.

The opening of the new Jones Lang LaSalle corporate office in Milwaukee will allow the firm to provide an even greater level of service to those clients, other local businesses and real estate investors large and small, according to Daniel T. Ryan, head of the firm’s Midwest Region, which also includes offices in Minneapolis, St. Louis and Indianapolis in addition to two offices in Chicago.

“In our global headquarters city of Chicago and across the Midwest, Jones Lang LaSalle has earned a reputation for providing the highest level of service to our clients,” Ryan said. “Milwaukee, with its vibrant and well-diversified business landscape, provides us an opportunity to serve even more companies. We are excited to be opening a Milwaukee-based corporate office and are thrilled to have a respected and seasoned real estate professional like Dan Jessup leading the charge for us.”

Jessup, 49, a Marquette University alumnus who has twice been named “Realtor of the Year” by the Wisconsin Commercial Association of Realtors (WCAR), brings more than 20 years of local commercial real estate experience to Jones Lang LaSalle including more than 10 years as owner and president of APEX Commercial.

“In exploring new ways to grow my business and better serve my clients, it became clear to me that Jones Lang LaSalle offers the most complete platform of services and the best culture of excellence in the commercial real estate industry today,” Jessup said. “I know I speak for Michael when I say that we are extremely pleased to be joining the Jones Lang LaSalle team.”
