Jones Lang LaSalle Builds All-Star Retail Brokerage Team in Florida

Firm hires Sean McConnell as Senior Vice President; Dan Moriarty and Scott Sheron as Vice Presidents


ORLANDO, Sept. 3, 2012 — As part of its on-going efforts to enhance the retail services it offers in select local markets across the country, Jones Lang LaSalle (NYSE:  JLL) today announced the firm has hired Sean McConnell as Senior Vice President and Tenant Representation Lead in Florida.  McConnell will provide state-wide retail brokerage services under the direction of John Lambert who leads the firm’s retail business throughout the region.  McConnell is joined by Vice Presidents Dan Moriarty and Scott Sheron, who specialize in working with retail tenants throughout Florida.

McConnell joins Jones Lang LaSalle with a wealth of experience in commercial real estate.  Prior to this, he was a first vice president at CBRE and Trammell Crow Company. Throughout his career,  McConnell has represented several premier companies including Darden, RaceTrac Petroleum, NBC Universal and Fifth Third Bank, closing transactions valued at more than $250 million.  He earned an MBA from Rollins College and an MFA from Florida Atlantic University.  He will be based in the firm’s Orlando office.

Moriarty joins the firm from Boca Raton-based Synergy Retail Group where he was responsible for local and national tenant representation, land development and shopping center leasing.  Throughout his career, Moriarty has held various positions in the retail arena including general manager and leasing agent for shopping centers ranging from 450,000 square feet to 1.5 million square feet.  He will be based in Fort Lauderdale.

Sheron was previously Owner/Broker of The Sheron Group, Inc., a Florida and Georgia real estate brokerage and development company, as well as Managing Partner of Shopping Center Construction Management, LLC.  He’s been in the retail sector for more than 20 years representing both landlords and retailers throughout Florida and the Southeast.  Sheron’s retail brokerage and development experience has focused on national credit  drug store, automotive, gas station, and fast food tenants including Eckerd Drug/CVS, Advance Auto Parts, Mobil Oil, Wendy’s, and McDonald’s.  Sheron received his MBA from St. Thomas University in Miami and bachelor’s degree from Boston University.  He will be based in the firm’s Miami office.

Over the past several months, Jones Lang LaSalle has intensified its resources at the local level, leveraging its Retail Tenant Solutions (RTS) capabilities – formerly known as Corporate Retail Solutions – to provide local market retail tenant representation services.  This complements the firm’s already strong landlord services including Retail Capital Markets, Property Management and Leasing.  

In addition to retail leasing for landlords and tenants, the firm’s RTS team will continue to provide comprehensive outsourced retail tenant capabilities as it has done for more than 12 years under the leadership of Jones Lang LaSalle’s Lew Kornberg.  RTS services include market planning, research and strategy, new site acquisition oversight and development as well as asset management/portfolio optimization services at the national level.

In Florida, the firm currently leases and/or manages nearly 20 assets totalling more than five million square feet of space in Jacksonville, Miami, Orlando, Tallahassee and Tampa.
