Organization honors Senior Project Manager with 2012 VIP Woman of the Year award

NEW YORK, June 14, 2012 — Jones Lang LaSalle announced that Elyse A. Johnson, senior project manager with Jones Lang LaSalle, has been honored by the National Association of Professional Women with a 2012 VIP Woman of the Year award.
Johnson, 36, supervises project management work throughout the Northeast for Jones Lang LaSalle on assignments that include retail, theater, law firm corporate interiors and disaster recovery facilities.

“I am honored to receive recognition from the National Association of Professional Women,” said Johnson. “I am grateful to be a part of an organization that promotes not only the professional development of women, but also participation in their communities.”

The organization, which has more than 150,000 members, recognizes just a handful of members each year with this award.

Johnson began her professional career in the architectural acoustics design field at Walters-Storyk Design Group, where she was a leading member of design teams that worked on projects for major studios and theaters in the New York metropolitan area.

Johnson received a bachelor’s degree in architecture and a bachelor’s degree in building science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. She is an associate member of the American Institute of Architects; and a member of the RPI Alumni Association, and the RPI Swimming and Diving Alumni Association. Johnson is a member of the National Association of Professional Women and has been involved in the Association of Real Estate Women.

She holds a lifetime membership with Habitat for Humanity in Nassau County, N.Y. and is an active member of her community board.  Johnson has served as an ACE Mentor Program and serves as a committee member for the 2010-2012 ACE Mentor Program Golf Outing.
