Jones Lang LaSalle Expands National Multifamily Investment Sales Team with New Hires in Boston

Michael Coyne and Travis D’Amato join Boston Capital Markets as Senior Vice Presidents

BOSTON, May 29, 2012 — Jones Lang LaSalle today announced the firm has expanded its national multifamily investment sales practice with the addition of two seasoned capital markets experts in Boston.  Michael Coyne and Travis D’Amato have joined Jones Lang LaSalle as Senior Vice Presidents responsible for broadening the firm’s client service capabilities in the region. Both will partner with Jubeen Vaghefi, head of Jones Lang LaSalle’s multifamily capital markets practice and Frank Petz, New England Capital Markets leader.

“We have long held a strong foothold along the Washington, D.C. and New York corridor and sought to add greater depth in Boston to serve our Northeast clients’ needs as a national leader in multifamily capital markets,” said Vaghefi.  “Boston is a key multifamily transaction market for us—one that’s ripe for expansion given the national and international investor interest in the region. With Mike and Travis on board as full-service capital markets experts, we can serve our multifamily clients’ growing interests and present a very compelling competitive offering in New England.”

Coyne and D'Amato have spent the last decade completing complex multifamily sales and financing assignments on behalf of local and institutional clients. Their addition is Jones Lang LaSalle’s third major Boston Capital Markets hire in the past month following the addition of Frank Petz. Coyne and D’Amato will partner with Petz to help advance the firm’s platform throughout New England as part of Jones Lang LaSalle’s strategic plan to broaden the firm's expertise in this strategic market.

“Mike and Travis bring a broad skill set to the table including disposition, acquisition, and debt and equity placement expertise that matters to our discerning client base,” added Petz.  “Their skill sets as dedicated multifamily experts, along with their strong relationships with local and national investors and buyers, and their reputation for client service excellence will provide a viable alternative to existing competitors and capture market share here in Boston and nationally.”

Coyne has worked in the multifamily capital markets arena for more than a decade, having handled a wide range of activities including acquisitions, dispositions, senior and mezzanine financing, and joint venture equity placement.  He joins the firm from Recap Real Estate Advisors and has previously held prominent roles at CB Richard Ellis, TriSail Capital Corporation and Deutsche Bank Berkshire Mortgage. Coyne earned his bachelor’s of science degree from Boston College’s Wallace E. Carroll School of Management. He is a member of the Real Estate Finance Association (REFA) of Greater Boston, the Urban Land Institute (ULI) and the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP).

D’Amato has worked at many of the industry's most respected multifamily outfits including CB Richard Ellis and Winn Residential. He brings a near decade of related experience to the Jones Lang LaSalle team. He earned his bachelor of arts degree from Dartmouth College. He serves as the Co-Chairman of the Real Estate Finance Association’s (REFA) Emerging Leader’s Committee, is a member of the Ambassador’s Council for the Multiple Sclerosis Society and supports community organizations including Heading Home and The Greater Boston Food Bank.
