Derek Ruterman Promoted to Vice President for Jones Lang LaSalle in Phoenix

Expands role in firm’s rapidly growing Project and Development Services Group

PHOENIX, May 4, 2012 – The Phoenix office of Jones Lang LaSalle has promoted Derek Ruterman to Vice President, expanding his role in the firm’s rapidly growing of Project and Development Services (PDS) Group—a business line that in 2011 doubled its staff and grew its Arizona revenue by almost 200 percent.

Formerly a Project Manager for Jones Lang LaSalle in Phoenix, Ruterman will continue to manage key Jones Lang LaSalle PDS projects while also helping the company capitalize on new opportunities and manage a growing pipeline of jobs in Arizona and Nevada.

Ruterman is currently directing tenant improvement projects for Silicon Valley Bank, which this summer will establish an IT/operations center in 49,000 square feet on two floors at the Hayden Ferry Lakeside I building in Tempe, Ariz., and Aiken Schenk law firm, who will soon relocate to 15,000 square feet of Class A space at Biltmore Financial Center in Phoenix. He is also completing six Firestone Complete Auto Care facilities in Las Vegas, Nev.

Other significant PDS projects for the firm in the Southwest include construction coordination for the $40 million, 600,000-square-foot Western U.S. distribution hub for Dick’s Sporting Goods in Goodyear, Ariz., and development management for the just-completed Salvation Army Herberger Campus renovation in downtown Phoenix, a project that replaces 160,000 square feet of ailing space with a new 40,000-square-foot Divisional Headquarters and 30,000-square-foot social services building. Together, these new Salvation Army buildings have the potential to reduce the Campus’ operating and maintenance budgets by $1.1 million per year.

Ruterman has more than a decade of experience in the Phoenix commercial real estate construction market, including Project Manager roles at Jones Lang LaSalle, RED Development and Wespac Construction. He holds a bachelor’s degree in construction management from Arizona State University and an M.B.A in business management from Arizona State University’s WP Carey School of Business.

Jones Lang LaSalle is a leader in the Phoenix commercial real estate market. Employing nearly 400 of the area’s most recognized industry experts, the firm offers office and industrial brokerage, tenant representation, facility and investment management, capital markets and development services. In 2011, the Phoenix team completed 5.2 million square feet in lease transactions valued at $337 million, directed $56 million in project management and currently has 15.8 million square feet under management.
