Jones Lang LaSalle Hires Capital Markets Leader in Boston

Sales and financing expert Frank Petz to steer firm’s Capital Markets platform in Boston

BOSTON, APR. 26, 2012 — As part of the firm’s ongoing commitment to build a leading Capital Markets business, Jones Lang LaSalle today announced the firm has hired Frank Petz to lead its overall Capital Markets business for New England.  Frank Petz, one of the region’s longstanding market experts, has joined the firm as a Managing Director and New England Capital Markets leader to build a broad Capital Markets presence throughout New England, focusing on debt finance, equity placement, and investment sales.

Petz joins Jones Lang LaSalle from Richards Barry Joyce & Partners (RBJ), following experiences at both Eastdil Secured and CBRE│Melody, where Frank was a noted top revenue generator.  He will utilize his extensive breadth of experience to help aggressively grow the firm’s presence throughout the New England.

Petz will partner with Boston Market Director David Slye, as well as Jay Koster, Americas Capital Markets President, to continue to expand Jones Lang LaSalle’s client service capabilities nationally, and to bolster the firm’s position as a full Capital Markets operation throughout New England.  Petz joins existing Jones Lang LaSalle veteran Scott Jamieson, who along with Petz, will continue to focus on expanding the firm’s investment sales presence in New England.

“Boston weathered the recession better than a majority of markets and has emerged as one of the strongest cities for transaction volumes.  It has long been a target for us as we build a market-leading Americas Capital Markets business and the addition of Frank is a clear indication to clients that we intend to deeply penetrate this strategic market,” said Koster.  “Over the past 24 months, we’ve added top-producing hires in New York, Washington, D.C., Atlanta, Houston, Los Angeles and Seattle, amongst many others.  The addition of Frank in Boston is a key part of our growth strategy, as he brings more than 20 years of broad real estate experience to the firm, with expertise in investment sales, equity placement, debt finance and capital strategies.  He’ll be able to tap into our global platform to build a thriving New England Capital Markets business.”

Petz earned his bachelors degree from the University of Virginia’s McIntire School of Commerce and is a member of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP), the Urban Land Institute, and the Real Estate Finance Association (REFA).  He is also actively involved in the Big Brothers Big Sisters Association of Massachusetts, as both a board member since 2002 and as a Big Brother since 2001.

“In the first quarter of this year, Boston has seen nearly four million square feet of renovation projects and new construction break ground across the market,” said Slye.  “Aligning our clients growing needs is of paramount importance and our number one priority.  Frank’s skills across the broad Capital Markets spectrum increase our Capital Markets bandwidth exponentially, and when added to our market-leading leasing, management, project management and construction business lines, truly reinforces our status as a leader here in the Boston.”
