Jones Lang LaSalle Pitches In, Gives Back and Dresses Up in Atlanta

Retail Group gives more than 1000 man-hours to local area charities; donates more than $3,000 for The Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation

ATLANTA, April 10, 2012 – Jones Lang LaSalle’s retail team has been reaching out to help others. Approximately 300 of Jones Lang LaSalle retail executives from around the country came together to give back to the local Atlanta community as part of their national leadership conference held in Atlanta.  The team welcomed spring by giving more than 1000-volunteer hours pitching in at Piedmont Park, Hope Hill Elementary School and the Nicholas House, and helping dress up approximately 100 women via Dress for Success.

Additionally, the team raised more than $3,000 for The Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation. Medal of Honor recipient, Sgt. Dakota Meyers spoke at the firm’s annual Retail Leadership Conference (RLC) and discussed being the best you can be.

“Giving back to the communities where we work and live enriches the lives of our professionals in the Retail Group,” said Greg Maloney, President and CEO, Jones Lang LaSalle Retail. “Part of being a leader in retail real estate is caring about the communities where our malls and shopping centers are located, so lending a helping hand where we can helps make us be the best we can be while also giving us a sense of accomplishment. That’s why this program has continued to grow year after year.”

The four charitable initiatives Jones Lang LaSalle’s Retail Group dedicated time to and that kicked off the firm’s annual RLC meeting were Dress for Success, Hope Hill Elementary, Nicholas House and Piedmont Park.

Dress for Success
Jones Lang LaSalle partnered with Dress for Success Atlanta for the organization’s “There’s More To You Than You Think” event that featured a fashion show and “shop” where attendees selected free professional attire for upcoming professional interviews. Equally important to the organization’s goal to promote professional skills and economic independence, attendees had the opportunity to meet employers at a job fair, participate in mock interviews and attend a resume-writing workshop.

Dress for Success, a national organization, helps individuals transition into the workforce by organizing a job fair, skills workshops and free professional attire for interviews.

“Our employees enjoy getting out into the community and working side-by-side with one another to make a lasting impact,” said Greg Maloney, President and CEO of Jones Lang LaSalle Retail. “This year, employees had the opportunity to donate their time to more charities than ever as part of our RLC Charity Day.”

Hope Hill Elementary School
Jones Lang LaSalle employees transformed an unused classroom into a science lab, organized the school store and closet and took part in exterior landscape beautification.

Nicholas House
At Nicholas House, which provides a temporary place to live for homeless families, Jones Lang LaSalle volunteers prepared and served meals and assisted in a variety of landscape improvements.

Park Pride
Jones Lang LaSalle employees assisted the Park Pride non-profit organization to further beautify Piedmont Park by planting new trees and shrubs and building benches.
