Monmouth University in New Jersey to Honor Peter Riguardi Of Jones Lang LaSalle With Leadership Excellence Award

Firm Executive to Be Honored at 16th Annual Leadership Excellence Award Dinner

NEW YORK, April 20, 2009 — Jones Lang LaSalle announced that Peter Riguardi, president of its New York region, has been selected by Monmouth University’s Kislak Real Estate Institute to receive its 16th annual Leadership Excellence Award.

The Kislak Real Estate Institute bestows the award in recognition of the interdependent relationship between Monmouth University and the real estate industry. The Leadership Excellence Award is conferred each year upon an outstanding individual for his or her distinctive contributions to the state of New Jersey and the nation through a career in real estate. Recipients are either residents of New Jersey or those who regard New Jersey as an important focus of their corporate identity.

“It is an honor to receive this prestigious award, which has recognized many of the most significant figures in New Jersey real estate,” said Riguardi. “As both a resident and a real estate professional that has done business throughout the state, I am well aware New Jersey continues to hold a pre-eminent position in the real estate sector. I am blessed to have been honored by many great causes, but this will be the first time that it will be in my home town.”

Monmouth University will present the award to Riguardi at its 16th annual Leadership Excellence Award Dinner on May 28, 2009, at Woodrow Wilson Hall, located at the University’s campus in West Long Branch, N.J.

As president of the New York region for Jones Lang LaSalle, Riguardi sets the strategic direction for the firm’s business in the New York, New Jersey and Connecticut area. He is responsible for broadening the company’s New York platform by developing and maintaining key client relationships, and for overseeing a team of approximately 600 professionals in the tri-state area. Riguardi is a member of Jones Lang LaSalle’s Americas Executive Committee, which develops a national business strategy for the company.

During his 25-plus-year career in real estate, he has been actively involved in several of the largest and most noteworthy transactions and projects in the metropolitan area. Riguardi spearheaded Bank of America’s decision to codevelop One Bryant Park and represented the bank in leasing 1.5 million square feet of office space at the building in two transactions.

Riguardi’s other clients include Deutsche Bank AG, HSBC Bank USA, N.A, Morgan Stanley, MetLife and Citibank, N.A. He has also represented major landlords that include Boston Properties Inc., SL Green Realty Corp., Vornado Realty Trust, The William Kaufman Organization, Rudin Management Co. Inc. and Paramount Group Inc.

Riguardi also serves as real estate consultant for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey on the rebuilding of the World Trade Center complex. Since 2004, he has led the team providing the Port Authority with expertise on planning and redevelopment for a project that integrates diverse commercial real estate, cultural and land-use components and has served as a catalyst for the transformation of Lower Manhattan.

Past recipients of the award include Steven J. Pozycki of SJP Properties, Anne Evans Estabrook of Elberon Development Co., Benedict J. Torcivia Sr. of Torcon Inc., Mitchell E. Hersh of Mack-Cali Realty Corp., John A. Somers of TIAA-CREF and Emanuel Stern of Hartz Mountain Industries Inc.

Monmouth University renamed its real estate institute as the Kislak Real Estate Institute in 2006 following a $2 million donation by the Kislak Family Fund to establish an undergraduate academic program in real estate, the first of its kind in New Jersey. The institute’s curriculum encompasses the multiple disciplines needed by individuals who make real estate decisions as investors, asset managers, consultants, developers and officers of financial institutions; and provides professionals in allied fields with the conceptual and practical skills needed to forge a successful career in commercial real estate.

The Leadership Excellence Award Dinner is held annually to help defray tuition costs in the form of scholarship monies made available to students pursuing real estate education.

This year’s awards ceremony will take place at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 28, at Monmouth University’s Woodrow Wilson Hall, 400 Cedar Avenue, West Long Branch, N.J. For additional information regarding ticket purchasing, call the Monmouth University Kislak Real Estate Institute at 732-571-4412.
