Find the Right Dress and You Might Find the Right Job

Jones Lang LaSalle partners with Dress for Success for “There’s More to You than You Think” charitable event

ATLANTA, Feb. 27, 2012 – The Jones Lang LaSalle retail team will put its fashion expertise to use by partnering with Dress for Success Atlanta for the organization’s “There’s More To You Than You Think” event on March 4 at the Loews Hotel in Midtown Atlanta from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Dress for Success, a national organization, helps individuals transition into the workforce by organizing a job fair, skills workshops and free professional attire for interviews.

Dress for Success is one of four charitable initiatives Jones Lang LaSalle’s Retail Group dedicates its time to and will kick off the firm’s annual Retail Leadership Conference (RLC), which takes place March 4-6.

“There’s More to You Than You Think” will feature a fashion show and “shop” where attendees can select free professional attire for upcoming professional interviews. Equally important to the organization’s goal to promote professional skills and economic independence, attendees will have opportunities to meet employers at a job fair, participate in mock interviews and attend a resume-writing workshop.

“Jones Lang LaSalle is committed to community involvement and our Dress for Success partnership is a positive, personal way to sponsor an event that combines what we do on the retail-side with giving our employees the chance to pass on career experience to disadvantaged women as they enter the workplace,” said Greg Maloney, President and CEO of Jones Lang LaSalle Retail. “Our employees enjoy getting out into the community and working side-by-side with one another to make a lasting impact. This year, employees will have the opportunity to donate their time to more charities than ever as part of our RLC Charity Day.”

Added Lori Cowie, Executive Director of Dress for Success Atlanta:  “We are thankful to the sponsors of this event and the metro Atlanta community for continuously stepping up to help Dress for Success Atlanta empower more than 2,000 women per year. Each year, we are able to put multiple women to work, empowering them to become strong, independent, and successful in both the workplace and their personal lives.”

To make it possible for more women to participate in “There’s More To You Than You Think,” childcare services will be offered throughout the event. Jones Lang LaSalle and other local businesses, including IPC Security, Robert Half International, Xerox, ABM Industries and Loews Hotels, will participate in the job fair.

In addition to the Dress for Success event, Jones Lang LaSalle’s Retail group will donate time to the following organizations on March 4:

Hope Hill Elementary School
Jones Lang LaSalle employees will transform an unused classroom into a science lab, organize the school store and closet and take part in exterior landscape beautification.

Nicholas House
At Nicholas House, which provides a temporary place to live for homeless families, Jones Lang LaSalle will prepare and serve meals and assist in a variety of landscape improvements.

Park Pride
Jones Lang LaSalle employees will assist the Park Pride non-profit organization to further beautify Piedmont Park by planting new trees and shrubs and building benches.

Jones Lang LaSalle has more than 700 employees in Atlanta and across Georgia providing real estate expertise in tenant and landlord representation, property management, project and development services and investment sales. Jones Lang LaSalle’s leasing and management portfolio includes some of Atlanta’s most iconic buildings. In 2010, the firm was named one of the Best Places to Work in Atlanta by The Atlanta Business Chronicle.
