Jones Lang LaSalle Appoints Mike Sivewright as Atlanta Market Director

A key leader at Jones Lang LaSalle since 1998, Sivewright will oversee the firm’s Atlanta business to ensure continued growth in Southeast hub

ATLANTA, Nov. 29, 2011 — Jones Lang LaSalle today announced the appointment of Mike Sivewright as Market Director charged with overseeing the firm’s business across metro Atlanta. Sivewright, who has held a number of key leadership roles at Jones Lang LaSalle, will assume the new position in January 2012.

“As the transportation hub of the Southeast and the region’s business center, Atlanta is a key market for Jones Lang LaSalle across all of our business lines,” said Dave McGarry, Managing Director, Markets East, Jones Lang LaSalle.  “To ensure our continued growth in this vital market, we wanted an individual with a deep understanding of the market, tremendous leadership capabilities and extensive knowledge of all that or firm offers. Mike is that person. He has lived in Atlanta for 16 years, knows the city, understands the needs of occupiers and investors, and has the broad experience that this role requires.”

Sivewright joined Jones Lang LaSalle as part of the Compass merger in 1998.  For the past four years, he has held the position of Global Alliance Director for 50 million square feet of Bank of America’s portfolio.  To ensure a smooth transition, he will remain active with the Bank of America account until his successor is transitioned.

“Jones Lang LaSalle is a key leader in Atlanta’s commercial real estate market with strong positions in property management, brokerage and multifamily,” said Sivewright.  “I’m looking forward to working with our more than 700 employees across our broad platform to advance the strong growth the firm has been experiencing here.”

Prior to his role with the Bank of America account, Sivewright held high-level positions within Jones Lang LaSalle’s transaction business, including leader of Project and Development Services in the firm’s 20-state Central region. He has also served as Chairman of Jones Lang LaSalle’s Banking Industry Group and Corporate Solutions Operating Committee, and served on the firm’s Corporate Solutions Diversity and Inclusion Leadership Council.

During his career, Sivewright has provided project development oversight for some of Atlanta’s most significant development projects, including Technology Square, a 1.2 million-square-foot, mixed use project that reshaped and expanded the Georgia Institute of Technology campus. Sivewright also brings expertise in brokerage from his previous roles at Jones Lang LaSalle and as the director of all transaction services at Compass. His prior roles also include Vice President at Miglin Beitler in Chicago and Vice President at NTS Corp. in Louisville, Ky. He holds a bachelor of science degree in finance from the University of Kentucky, and is a Certified Commercial Investment Member, a licensed Real Estate Broker, a member of both CoreNet Global and the Urban Land Institute.

In Atlanta Jones Lang LaSalle provides real estate expertise in tenant and landlord representation, property management, project and development services, and investment sales. Jones Lang LaSalle’s leasing and management portfolio includes some of Atlanta’s most iconic buildings. In 2010, the firm was named one of the Best Places to Work in Atlanta by The Atlanta Business Chronicle.
