General Services Administration Signs Lease for 10-Years in Gilroy, CA

Social Security Administration relocating and revitalizing downtown Gilroy

WASHINGTON, D.C., Oct. 17, 2011 – Jones Lang LaSalle professionals have assisted the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) in the award of a lease in Gilroy, CA for the Social Security Administration (SSA).  The 10-year lease is for 7,100 square feet at 7601 Monterey Street.

Jones Lang LaSalle professionals representing the government included Kate Brennan, Amy Aldridge and Gary Tuckman.  Mark Sanchez of Colliers International represented the building owner, 668 Investors, LLC.

“This building has been vacant since 2007 and in its current semi-demolished state been an eyesore for the community,” said Kate Brennan, Vice President, Jones Lang LaSalle.  “The addition of SSA as the sole occupant of the building will help city’s goal of revitalizing downtown Gilroy.”

According to its website, GSA’s leased portfolio contains more than 7,100 separate properties – totaling approximately 189 million square feet – dispersed across the United States.
Since 2005, Jones Lang LaSalle has assisted GSA in the award of more than 1,000 leases.  Nationwide, the firm is currently assisting on more than 525 lease procurements for Federal civilian departments and agencies across the executive, legislative and judicial branches.

This news release is neither paid for nor sponsored, in whole or in part, by any element of the United States Government.
