Jones Lang LaSalle Partners with Make-A-Wish Foundation® to Grant Four Wishes in Miami

Firm’s charity initiative makes dream come true for four children

Miami, Oct. 13, 2011 — Jones Lang LaSalle Florida partnered with the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Southern Florida to grant wishes to four children with life threatening illnesses. The firm’s fundraising efforts culminated in a $20,000 check presented to Norm Wedderburn, President and CEO of the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Southern Florida, during a celebratory event held in Miami. The event, held at Miami Tower on October 12th, was attended by 250 of the company’s state-wide employees and its vendors.

At an average cost of $5,000 per wish, the funds go to making the child’s dream of being something, meeting someone, travelling somewhere or having something come true.

On the heels of being recognized as one of the “Best Places to Work For,” in 2011 by Florida Trend magazine, Jones Lang LaSalle has enjoyed tremendous business growth in Florida. "Florida is an important region for our business, and as a firm, we are committed to the state and the communities in which we operate.” said Kurt Keaton, Market Director, Florida, Jones Lang LaSalle.  “Giving back to those in need in our community is not only an honor but one of the best parts of our job.”

The corporate tenet for creating a philanthropic focus is realized through dedicated engagement to identifying and implementing management tactics that build a culture of giving.  “Jones Lang LaSalle has made it possible for us to bring hope, strength and joy to four local children,” said Wedderburn. “Their support has made a significant difference in the lives of the courageous children we serve.”

Jones Lang LaSalle’s South Florida Charity Committee spearheaded the organization of this fundraising initiative. Led by Amarjit Bains, Jessenia Vargas, Ashwindar Singh and Dwight Stephenson, the Committee is dedicated to hosting at least one charity event and/or fundraiser per year on behalf of the company.
