Sydney Scarborough joins Jones Lang LaSalle Healthcare Solutions Group

New leader brings 30 years of experience to managing director role

CHICAGO, June 28, 2011–Jones Lang LaSalle today announced the appointment of Sydney P. Scarborough as a Managing Director, an addition that further expands the expertise of the firm’s Healthcare Solutions group. Scarborough joins Jones Lang LaSalle with 30 years of experience in the healthcare and financial services industries, working directly with and for some of the largest and most prominent healthcare organizations in the country.

Based in Jones Lang LaSalle’s Chicago office, Scarborough will focus on increasing the firm’s client service delivery through expanded and new relationships with hospitals and healthcare systems in the Midwest. This region stretches from Minnesota to Texas and Ohio to Nebraska.

“With nearly three decades of proven experience within the healthcare and financial services industries, Sydney truly understands the financial and operational pressure points challenging healthcare institutions today,” said Peter Bulgarelli, Chief Operating Officer of Jones Lang LaSalle’s healthcare solutions group. “Sydney’s experiences combined with the resources of our healthcare solutions group translate to the delivery of client-focused solutions.”

Scarborough’s experience covers healthcare real estate, strategic and financial consultancy, transaction management and capital markets. Throughout her career she has been involved in transactions valued in excess of $3.5 billion.
In 1998, she co-founded Lillibridge Healthcare Services and its predecessor firms, launching the first monetization of healthcare real estate in the industry. Most recently she was a board member and an executive vice president, providing strategic leadership in the marketing, business development and overall positioning of the firm. She participated in product development and growth / strategy initiatives for the firm’s service lines:  advisory, acquisitions, development, property management and program management. She led the firm’s Annual Meeting for ten years and developed its “BRIDGE” program (“Bringing Results and Innovative Development to Growing Enterprises”).

Prior to Lillibridge, Scarborough established a healthcare strategic financial planning business to advise hospitals on capital allocation and investment decisions. In the early 1980s she launched the healthcare finance business for Mellon Bank, N.A., resulting in a $2.5 billion portfolio in five years.

Scarborough graduated from Chatham University in Pittsburgh, Penn. with a bachelor’s degree in political science and an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh. She has considerable experience presenting at national conferences and publishing articles and educational pieces for healthcare and financial audiences.

Jones Lang LaSalle’s healthcare solutions group works with hospitals and health systems throughout the nation delivering program management, strategic consulting, financial strategy, transaction and sustainability advisory services and facilities and property management.  Through its work, the healthcare group reduces costs, drives efficiencies and enhances quality through the unrealized potential of real estate assets and infrastructure.
