Dorsey & Whitney Relocates to 1801 K Street

Law Firm Moves to NEW Trophy Building


Washington, DC May 11, 2009 – Somerset Partners is pleased to announce that Dorsey & Whitney LLP has selected 1801K Street for its new Washington, DC office.  Somerset, with architect Skidmore Owings and Merrill (SOM), has recently completed a total redevelopment of the property.  Dorsey & Whitney, a Minneapolis-based business law firm, will relocate its growing Washington, DC practice from 1050 Connecticut Avenue to 1801 K Street.

With almost 600,000 square feet, 1801 K Street is one of the largest private office buildings in the city offering 42,300 square floor plates with 30’ x 33’ column bays, 9’ achievable ceiling heights and the free standing nature of the building allows for a 100% windowed perimeter.  The exterior has a new energy efficient glass curtain wall with full-height windows that provide sweeping views of Washington while minimizing solar heat impact.  The redesigned lobby features hand-selected Calcutta marble and a 200-foot long art installation by renowned light artist Leo Villareal.
