HONOLULU, June 16, 2011 — Jones Lang LaSalle has named commercial real estate veteran Kirk Horiuchi as Senior Vice President in its Retail Division.  In this newly created position, he will oversee the company’s leased and managed portfolio, and will be tasked with growing the firm’s third-party retail business in Hawai‘i.

“A veteran of the retail industry, who was born and raised in Hawai’i, Kirk is the ideal executive to help our Hawai‘i clients maximize the return on their investments,” said Greg Maloney, CEO and President, Jones Lang LaSalle Retail.  “His knowledge of and prior experience with our company, combined with his expertise in the areas of asset management, business development, lease and contract negotiations and profitability management, will benefit our growing base of clients in the islands.  We’re so pleased to welcome Kirk back to the Jones Lang LaSalle ‘ohana.”

In late-2010, Jones Lang LaSalle re-entered the Hawaii market with its purchase of General Growth’s third-party management practice, which in Hawaii was comprised of the leasing and management of Windward Mall on O’ahu, Queen Ka’ahumanu Center on Maui and the Kings’ Shops on Hawai‘i Island.

Horiuchi brings more than 24 years of experience to the position.  Most recently, he served as Senior Asset Manager for Kamehameha Schools, where he was directly responsible for the leasing and operations of its retail properties, including Royal Hawaiian Center, Windward Mall and Hawaii Kai Towne Center.  Prior to that, he was Vice President/Regional Manager and Principal Broker for Jones Lang LaSalle Americas for seven years. Previous positions also included President of Wagner & Wagner Property Management, Inc., Director of Asset Management for Equitable Real Estate Investment Management and Senior Auditor for Price Waterhouse.

Active in the community and his profession, Horiuchi serves on the board of Certified Commercial Investment Member of Hawaii, is Vice President of the Shidler College of Business Alumni Association and is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers.  He received his master’s degree in business administration from the University of California at Berkeley and his bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Hawai‘i.
