Jones Lang LaSalle Strengthens National Industrial Capital Markets Practice

Charlie McPhee joins as Los Angeles Managing Director

LOS ANGELES, May 31, 2011 — Jones Lang LaSalle today announced it has bolstered its Industrial national Capital Markets business with the hiring of Charlie McPhee in Los Angeles.  McPhee joins the firm as a Managing Director and will focus on the industrial investment sales sector on the West Coast under the direction of Managing Director and Head of National Industrial Investment Sales, John Huguenard.
“Positive net absorption and declining vacancy rates all bode well for the continuing strength of the industrial sector,” said Huguenard.  “The Inland Empire, in particular, has set the bar for strong fundamentals in the industrial sector after finishing 2010 with more than 10 million square feet of positive absorption in that region of the country alone.  Transaction volumes are up more than 33 percent in the past year, and we expect a man of Charlie’s calibre and experience will enable us to expertly serve our increasing client demand on the West Coast.”
Added Craig Meyer, Executive Managing Director and head of Jones Lang LaSalle’s Americas Industrial Services team, “With Charlie’s extensive experience, knowledge and contacts, he is the right fit for our growing industrial investment sales team. We are seeing strong demand in this sector and Charlie will help us deliver the full suite of investment services to our growing client base.”
McPhee brings more than 27 years of experience within the commercial real estate industry to the firm, most recently as a Senior Vice President of Development at Macerich, where he was responsible for the oversight of all development and redevelopment activities in that firm’s Arizona portfolio.  Prior to that, he was an Executive Vice President at Catellus Development Corporation and continued with the firm following its merger with ProLogis.  McPhee earned his bachelors degree at Santa Clara University.
