Jones Lang LaSalle taps Jon Dahl and Brent Robertson to lead Agency Leasing practice in Minneapolis-St. Paul

Firm’s full-service Minneapolis office now provides Tenant Representation, Industrial Services and Agency Leasing to both occupier and investor clients

MINNEAPOLIS, April 22, 2011 — Jones Lang LaSalle announced today that veteran landlord-side commercial real estate professionals Jon Dahl and Brent Robertson have joined the firm to establish an Agency Leasing practice in its fast-growing Minneapolis office.

In their new role, Dahl and Robertson will serve as the exclusive leasing agents for a 2-million-square-foot portfolio of downtown Minneapolis office buildings owned by New York-based Brookfield Properties Corporation. Dahl previously oversaw leasing for the buildings in his former role as VP of office leasing in Minneapolis for Brookfield where he completed more than 2.2 million square feet of lease transactions.  

Robertson, meanwhile, comes to Jones Lang LaSalle after eight years in the local office of NorthMarq Real Estate Services. He was awarded the firm’s “Rising Star” award in 2008 and recently negotiated the largest new office lease in downtown Minneapolis in 2010, representing Campbell Mithun Tower in securing a 100,000 square foot lease with Oppenheimer, Wolff, and Donnelly.

Dahl and Robertson’s hiring’s mark the second major expansion of Jones Lang LaSalle’s Minneapolis office in less than four months.  In late December, the firm announced that veteran industrial real estate pro Chris Hickok was hired to establish an Industrial Services practice in Minnesota. He was later joined by industrial specialist Dan Terry.

The firm has had a thriving Tenant Representation practice in Minneapolis for more than a decade and has completed several of the largest office transactions in the market in recent months including the accounting firm Eide Baily’s move to a 40,000 square foot space at Bancorp Center.

The Brookfield Properties office portfolio that will now be leased by Jones Lang LaSalle includes 33 South 6th Street (50 stories, 1.1 million square feet) and RBC Plaza (40 stories,  609,000 square feet) in addition to some office space located within Brookfield’s retail properties.  

Liz McLay, Director of Retail Leasing with Brookfield, will continue to lease the retail space for Brookfield.
