Jones Lang LaSalle Assumes Leasing and Management of Waterfront Plaza in San Francisco’s North Waterfront Market

SAN FRANCISCO, April 14, 2011 – Jones Lang LaSalle this month assumes leasing and management responsibilities for Waterfront Plaza, a 297,000 square foot, four-story office complex close to the downtown San Francisco waterfront.  The Class A office property, which features a half mile of highly visible frontage along the Embarcadero, was recently acquired by Chicago-based LaSalle Investment Management.

Wes Powell and Travis James will handle leasing for the building which is currently 70 percent leased.  Todd Robinette and Hal Brownstone will oversee property management of the building which is EnergyStar® rated.

The building’s waterfront location has long attracted a diverse mix of tenants including media companies, advertising and marketing and professional services firms but Powell sees further potential for the location in the next few years.

“This is a quality property offering a mix of traditional office and creative space with highly efficient floorplates that will attract an array of tenants,” Powell said.  “It’s also set in a lush, five-acre urban campus setting with excellent access to amenities in a key location that will be the center of activity as San Francisco gets ready to host the 34th America’s Cup,” he added.

Powell said that the broad appeal of the building includes the fact that it has an adjacent five-story parking garage which gives it the highest parking ratio (one per 750 s.f.) of any office building in the city.  In addition, the building is a short walk to Fisherman’s Wharf, Pier 39, Jackson Square, North Beach and downtown and is one MUNI stop from the Ferry Building.  A free weekday shuttle carries Waterfront Plaza tenants to and from downtown BART stations.

The America’s Cup racing will take place in San Francisco Bay between July 13 and mid-September andt Piers 27-29 and 30-32 situated just across the Embarcadero from Waterfront Plaza will house much of the event’s off-water activity.  An America’s Cup Village will be built at Piers 27-29 with restaurants, shops and places for fans to congregate during the races.  Piers 30-32 will house the teams.
