Workplace Strategy: Alternative Workplace Solutions

To keep up with changing workplace demands, one of the nation’s top 10 financial services real estate teams established an alternative workplace solution to align workplace delivery. Our workplace solutions experts helped develop and launch pilot programs in Chicago, Buffalo and New York.

Our team began by conducting numerous studies to help the client understand how much space was actually used on a daily basis in a particular location. Concurrently, we deployed an employee survey to acquire information about how they work, and how they want to work. Armed with this intelligence, we engaged Six Sigma practices, driven by a change management task force, to disseminate information and encourage employee buy-in.

The initiative, still in progress, has reduced the client’s portfolio footprint by decreasing the number of assigned desks and boosting the amount of collaborative work spaces within the office. Technology upgrades have provided flexible work options, improving employee satisfaction. With our collaboration, the alternative workplace solution has proven a winner for everyone.
