JLL AES wins client advocacy role in retail microgrid opportunity

In order for a client located in Florida to avoid capital expense investment for 200: 75 kW diesel stand by generators, an alternative strategy was developed by JLL. Through this project, the client's hope was to be able to "keep the lights on" during grid outages (primarily storm related) and reduce HVAC life cycle costs (5-7 year RTU change outs).

With these challenges and end goals in mind, a path forward was developed. JLL screened multiple technology providers to determine proper application and disqualified vendors that couldn't provide an offering via an Energy Services Agreement (ESA).

While the project is still underway, the anticipate result is that the client will be able to achieve all of its goals. The contract will provide power 24/7 (even during grid outages). They will also achieve conditioned space and power security without any capital expense.

These results show that alternative energy solutions allow for guaranteed savings, even in low energy cost states such as Florida.
