Case Study

GlaxoSmithKline

GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) is a multinational pharmaceutical, biologics, vaccines and consumer healthcare company headquartered in London, United Kingdom. GSK has offices in over 100 countries and major research centers in the UK, USA, Spain, Belgium and China.

Jones Lang LaSalle has been GSK’s real estate provider for more than 20 years, firstly in the United Kingdom on behalf of Smithkline Beecham and latterly as a global service provider to GlaxoSmithKline. We formalized our contractual relationship in 2001 and for the three years after that, our work focused on the disposal of more than 100 assets globally in an effort to rationalize the merged portfolio with a continued focus on creating savings through further disposals. We are the lead provider of real estate services for GSK’s global portfolio of approximately 80 million square feet across some 800 locations. Services include consulting, transactions, data management and other professional services.

Since the start of our contracted relationship with GlaxoSmithKline in 2001 we have worked together to align real estate requirement with their business objectives to create an increasingly flexible portfolio that can respond to the market changes.
