New building for Visitor’s Bureau increases visibility, offers room for growth

Experience Columbus, aiming to best serve Central Ohio residents and visitors through programming and resources, felt stifled by its 17,200 square foot building at 90 N. High Street. Small floorplates and an inconvenient location stunted the organization’s pending growth. Leadership was also concerned about increased lease rates at the current location. The visitor’s bureau desired a more visible location to boost its presence and image, as well as its ability to better serve its constituents. To take on the role as the region’s representative, the non-profit felt it was crucial to relocate within a reasonable distance of the Greater Columbus Convention Center.

Following four rounds of negotiations and having aggressively positioned Experience Columbus as an ideal, economically strong tenant, JLL and the Experience Columbus team secured a 17,045 SF office lease at 277 W. Nationwide, saving 30.7% in the final deal. Today, Experience Columbus appreciates a highly visible and convenient location just a half a mile from the Greater Columbus Convention Center.
