Hazelden Foundation

Hazelden is one of the world’s largest providers of substance, alcohol and drug-abuse treatment.

The organization occupied approximately 10,000 s.f. of leased space at 322 Eighth Avenue in Chelsea, but wished to purchase a property for a treatment center with a residential component to house patients.

JLL was retained to analyze different scenarios for the organization, and ultimately execute on a transaction for the desired combination of facility functions.

JLL’s diverse platform of services, including its in-house Project and Development Services division, was utilized to provide insightful property evaluations as acquisition opportunities were presented.

Our team sourced and secured 283 West Broadway for Hazelden. The property was a failed residential condominium development that could easily convert to the functions Hazelden sought. 

JLL’s Project and Development Services provided project management services for the project, ensuring the budget and timeline of project were met.
