Situation
  • Former U.S. Naval Base at Atlantic entrance to Panama Canal Zone, Ft. Randolph, sold to private Asian consortium.
  • Site known as Isla Margarita totals approximately 68 hectares, with approved sea rights for additional 22 ha
  • Parcel represents last privately held waterfront land in Panama Canal Zone
  • Protected harbor allows for development of maritime terminal with private quay
    and berths for up to 3 Panamax vessel
  • Project Vision to create first container terminal to be built for post-Panamax area by
    bring together internationally renown partners and maritime experts
Initiatives
  • Valuation of property in 2007 and supplemental reevaluation in 2008
  • Development of project team including sourcing of architectural and engineering,
    construction, capital marketing etc.
  • Commence business attraction from international ocean carriers who utilize Panama Canal
  • Attraction of world class terminal operator
  • Establishment and sponsorship of Single Purpose Fund to acquire and carry forth development of PCCP
Current Activities
  • In discussion with top 5 terminal operator for exclusive management rights to PCCP
  • Securing of endorsement by Ministry of Commerce and President Martinelli for the development and investment at PCCP
  • Underwriting and creation of development Fund
  • Continued project awareness and advanced dialogue with ocean carriers
