  • Oakmont Realty purchases 40 acres of near port land within 8 miles from Port of Savannah.
  • Spec development of 650,000 sq. ft. commenced in Summer, 2007Yangshan
    Deepwater Harbor expected to propel Shanghai to #1 Port status in the world by 2012. 25 million annual TEU’ through-put projected by 2015.
  • Project supported by Georgia Port Authority as encouraged off-dock distribution solution.

Initiatives

  • Advisory on building design and specifications relative to emerging trends involving near-dock real estate.
  • John Carver, in partnership with Steve Grable of JLL Atlanta office hired to target
    market facility to national and international market.
  • Specific target marketing to port related users, complementing regional and local
    marketing effort of its Georgia based marketing partners.

Results

  • Property was pre-sold prior to completion of construction.
  • Buyer: Alexander Baldwin, a division of Matson Shipping Lines.
  • Sale price and marketing timeline exceeded developer expectations.
