Port of Shanghai – Yangshan Deepwater Harbor

Situation
  • Shanghai Lingang Group tasked with developing 300 sq. km (30,000 U.S. acres) under direct administration of Shanghai Municipal Government.
  • Lingang Manufacturing and Logistics Zones conceived and designed to support adjacent Yangshan Deepwater Harbor, opened December, 2006.
  • Yangshan Deepwater Harbor expected to propel Shanghai to #1 Port status in the world by 2012. 25 million annual TEU’ through-put projected by 2015.
  • Lingang New City, containing Lingang Manufacturing and Logistics Zones represents the largest industrial development underway in China (2005-2015).
Initiatives
  • Lingang Group retains Jones Lang LaSalle to implement global marketing effort and international landlord representation.
  • Business attraction campaign within North America and EMEA countries.
  • China services desk out of JLL Los Angeles offices to assist in all facets of site identification and transaction facilitation.
  • Coordination and hosting of promotional events within North American and Western European markets targeting encouraged industries.
Results
  • Lingang selected as first point of entry for a top 5 cold storage Company in United  States.
  • Lingang to become flagship location for state of the art freezer warehouse; 25,000 sq. meters (250,000 sq. ft.) Single story, 20 meter ceiling clearance; under construction - Summer 2009.
  • Lingang has become among the most recognized China development projects in North America.
