Honeywell slashes energy costs with rigorous audits and low-cost solutions

Honeywell wished to curb rising energy costs across their 15 million square foot portfolio managed by Jones Lang LaSalle.  In 2007 the company tasked us with a stretch goal of decreasing spend by 3 percent across the portfolio. Our team identified 253 energy-saving projects, many of which could be quickly implemented without major investment. During 2007-2009, our team answered Honeywell’s 3 percent energy reduction challenge with an average of over 4 percent, saving $5.2 million in operating expenses during the two-year period.  As energy-efficient capital expenditures return their initial investment, projected savings from 2007-2011 are a cumulative $19.8 million.
