Case Study

For This Company, Best-in-Class is Money in the Bank

The real estate team at one of the nation’s largest financial holdings companies wanted to become a better strategic partner with the company’s business lines. To do this, they engaged our Strategic Consulting advisory group to help create best-in-class operational policies and processes that aligned to business needs and generated sustainable savings in the process.

Our team collaborated with client’s improvement team to identify nine “work streams” of opportunity including portfolio optimization, alternative workplace strategies, location strategies, financial strategies, organizational design, governance, transaction management and facility management. We helped the client migrate its real estate orientation from a regional system to a centralized structure, then analyzed and developed recommendations to drive the nine opportunities throughout the company’s 2,000-location, 17 million-square-foot portfolio.

When implemented, the initiative is expected to lift our client to the top of the real estate class to the tune of $20 million in annual savings.
