JLL Des Moines office receives three awards presented by Iowa Commercial Real Estate Association (ICREA)

DES MOINES, IOWA, Oct. 3, 2019 – The Iowa Commercial Real Estate Association (ICREA) recognized the JLL Des Moines office with three awards at the 2019 Iowa Commercial Real Estate Expo: Rising Star, Top Deal Over $5 Million and Top Deal Under $5 Million.

The Rising Star award was granted to JLL’s Meredith Young, sales associate. Over the course of her 26 months in the industry, Young was praised by her colleagues for demonstrating a high degree of integrity and strong business ethics. Much of her growth derived from her representation of DRA Properties/Prairie Trail, which resulted in almost 100,000 square feet in transaction volume. From June 1, 2018 to July 30, 2019, Young brokered 59 transactions totaling 192,389 square feet, resulting in $461,470 in commissions and a gross lease value of $21 million. Young also exercises impressive leadership at JLL and in various community organizations.

JLL managing directors Justin Lossner and Marcus Pitts won the award for Top Deal Over $5 Million. Lossner and Pitts represented the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines in a search for new office space, resulting in the purchase of 909 Locust Street. JLL’s Project and Development Services team also renovated and marketed the remaining 120,000 square feet available for lease, resulting in a total transaction volume of $36 million ($20.5 million acquisition and $15.5 million lease volume).

Lossner received a second award for the Top Deal Under $5 Million for a transaction involving American Equity. The equity firm needed to expand its existing location at West Glen Town Center. Through creative negotiating amongst several teams, Lossner represented both SumTotal and Skillsoft to help terminate existing leases and allow American Equity to grow. The total deal volume equaled $2.88 million.
